Insurance Shopping

Is it worth shopping your home insurance?

Two different questions live here. If you already have a competing quote, this works out the real difference. If you don't, it tells you honestly whether comparing is likely worth an hour — without inventing a savings figure.

Anything changed?

These don't produce a dollar figure. They tell us whether a comparison is likely to be worth your time.

Your results are below and keep updating as you change anything above.

Your Results

Based only on what you entered. Without a comparable quote, potential savings stay unknown.

What we can tell you

Enter your current annual premium to begin

Your premium is on your policy declarations page or your renewal notice. Everything else on this page is optional.

Compare coverage before you compare price

  • Dwelling coverage — is the rebuild amount the same, and is it enough?
  • Roof settlement — replacement cost or actual cash value? This is the biggest hidden difference between similar-looking policies.
  • Separate wind, hail or hurricane deductibles, often a percentage rather than a flat amount.
  • Personal property and loss of use limits.
  • Endorsements you rely on — water backup, service line, extended replacement cost.

This is general educational information, not insurance advice. Coverage decisions depend on your home and your risk — a licensed agent can review the specifics. Read our guide to shopping homeowners insurance.
